How To Enroll In Medicaid
- Find out if you are eligible to participate in Medicaid.
If you are a U.S. citizen and an Ohio resident, and you meet financial requirements, Medicaid Care Coordination is available if you are not also eligible for Medicare and you are:
- A family with children younger than 19 years old (covers all family members)
- An individual 19 years old or under
- Pregnant
- Disabled or age 65 or over
Everyone Deserves a Health Care Home
If you are eligible for Medicaid, but if you are under 19 and disabled, receive Medicaid through a waiver, become eligible by spending down income, or reside in a nursing home or other institution, under current rules you don't have the services of a Health Care Home available to you.If you are on Medicaid and feel you deserve a Health Care Home, please let your state legislators know. Enrollment instructions and forms are available in the Medicaid Enrollment section of the Ohio website. You can get help with the process through the Ohio Benefit Bank online or through one of their 1200 locations statewide.
You can enroll in Medicaid for the first time during Open Enrollment Month in your area; subsequently, you will need to renew your enrollment every six months. Your will be notified by the state Medicaid bureau when to renew.
